BOSLAN collaborates with Scottish Power Renewables in the development of the East Anglia 3 substation

The energy produced by the generators will be conducted to the offshore converter substation (OFCS) located in the center of the wind farm. The platform will have a fixed jacket foundation structure that will support the topside structure, where the equipment will be located. The energy generated will be conducted in alternating current to the OFCS, where it will be transformed into direct current and sent through export cables to the substation located on the coast.

It will have 172 wind turbines covering an area of some 305 km2 and will have the capacity to generate 1,400 megawatts and power 1 million homes.

The design and construction of this platform is being carried out by Aker Solutions in consortium with Siemens Energy.

BOSLAN collaborates in the project, as part of the Engineering of the property, carrying out the supervision and coordination of the implementation of the equipment and systems of the OFCS, taking advantage of the experience accumulated in the services provided for East Anglia One.

Among other tasks, are carried out review of handling means and systems, evacuation means, cable routing, trays and pipes.
